Technical & Life Skills
Build knowledge in disaster risk reduction, early warning, emergency response, climate risk, WASH, and food security.
YADI Programs / Women & Youth Empowerment
YADI strengthens disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, social cohesion, and community resilience by positioning women and youth as trained leaders, advocates, first responders, and local change agents.
Program Overview
Women and young people are often disproportionately affected by disasters, climate shocks, conflict, and economic instability. YADI’s model treats them not as passive beneficiaries, but as essential actors in preparedness, response, recovery, and peacebuilding.
The programme combines technical training, mentoring, community mobilisation, livelihood resilience, safeguarding, and institutional participation so inclusive leadership can translate into practical community action.
Empowerment System
The model moves from skills development to practical action, connecting individual capacity with household resilience, community mobilisation, and institutional influence.
Build knowledge in disaster risk reduction, early warning, emergency response, climate risk, WASH, and food security.
Support women and youth to organise campaigns, peer education, preparedness drills, and local response initiatives.
Embed safeguarding, inclusion, dignity, and protection principles across training and field engagement.
Strengthen representation in community structures, advocacy spaces, and resilience decision-making processes.
Youth Leadership Model
YADI equips young people to serve as peer educators, community mobilisers, first responders, campaign ambassadors, and advocates for safer communities.
Understanding hazards, vulnerability, mitigation, preparedness, and community risk communication.
Recognising local risk signals and supporting timely community information flow.
Building practical readiness for basic first response, crisis support, and referral pathways.
Engaging peers, schools, youth groups, and neighbourhood structures for collective action.
Women Empowerment Model
YADI integrates women’s empowerment into resilience programming to address gender-specific vulnerabilities while strengthening women’s roles in household preparedness, livelihoods, food security, WASH, peacebuilding, and decision-making.
Inclusion, Safety & Social Cohesion
YADI integrates safeguarding and inclusion principles so women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups can participate without harm and contribute to stronger community relationships.
Create equitable participation opportunities and reduce barriers that limit women’s leadership.
Develop safe spaces for young people to contribute ideas, lead action, and build confidence.
Apply safeguarding, referrals, dignity, and duty-of-care practices across programme activities.
Promote cooperation, trust, peacebuilding, and shared responsibility within communities.
Institutional Linkages
Women and youth groups are connected to programme teams, community structures, schools, local leaders, agencies, and advocacy platforms so empowerment work can influence preparedness, response, recovery, and long-term resilience planning.

More women and young people are prepared to lead preparedness, response, advocacy, and recovery action.
